Supporting the Immersive Strand at Galway Film Fleadh

Eirmersive was proud to support the Immersive Strand at this year's Galway Film Fleadh, and what a programme it was!

Eight world-class VR experiences across three venues in Galway city. Work that genuinely could not be seen anywhere else in Ireland this year. We had a fantastic time at The Baby Factory is Closed, Bodies of Water and The World Came Flooding In (to name a few), three works that between them navigate menopause, transformation and collective memory in the wake of extreme climate events.

Camille Donegan with Conn Holohan and Niamh Costello.

On Saturday, Eirmersive CEO Camille Donegan joined Niamh Costello, John Norton, Kevin Fox, and Conn Holohan on the Creative Futures Academy Screen Futures panel, hosted by Rónán Ó Muirthile, for a conversation about creativity, sustainability and the future of the screen industry. The discussion covered the capabilities of immersive media, the experience economy and where storytelling is heading next.

The Immersive Strand at Galway Film Fleadh continues to grow and the quality of what was on show this year reflected exactly where the sector is heading. It was wonderful to see audiences engaging so deeply with the work, many of whom experienced VR storytelling for the very first time!
